Sadistic Legacy Relegated?
After a long season and finishing a respectable 7th in the table, the players of Sadistic Legacy were ready for a quick break in the sun before returning for the second season. Little did they know that events back home would shake up the entire league system.
We all thought the super injunction was to protect a Welsh footballer, but it turns out it was to protect an Austrian community manager instead, only identifiable by the initials "LEA" and this front page of the Tuesday Herald;

While the players were away, this individual is alleged to have been taking bribes to sabotage some top teams. When Sadistic Legacy returned from holiday, they were told to report to the League 2 team meetings. Team Captain TheDan replied "But we're in League 1, is this some kind of training exercise?" The reply came through that legacy had been relegated to League 2 at the end of Season 2, having being questioned about fair play conduct during a number of games, and having to play the majority of their matches with a mad Scottish bloke between the sticks, but it turned out the latter had been happening for the majority of Season 1 anyway.
"This is crazy, we haven't played any games!" cried AVFCRoss, pointing to the results table which still showed the last game played against Wonderboys FC. "The table doesn't lie" came the reply, and low and behold Sadistic Legacy were in the table for League 2, along with the mighty Tank FC and several others. There was nothing anybody could do, so the players went back home after training.
A day later, another disaster. Overnight, the table for Season 3 were released, and Season 4 the day after that. "Just what in the hell is going on here?" cried Haze. PaulNewman started yelling at someone down the phone, but it was hard to tell what he was saying with the deep Mancunian accent. The teams had been scattered around again, some earning their place back where they were in Season 1, but Sadistic Legacy remained in League 2.
So here we are, Season 4, and Legacy are still in League 2, undeservedly. 10 games into the season, and unabated, it makes for an interesting change of pace from the glitz and glamor of the higher league, but the boys are sacrificing the high life for a chance to show what they're really made of.
"It might be a blessing in disguise" said top scorer Steven One Don; "We managed to slot 9 past Goldon Wings today, I think only 3 of them bothered to turn up." (Literally.......)
Attempts to contact the mysterious "LEA" have been met with replies of "The Devs are taking care of it." What are the Devs? Are they criminal masterminds behind the season fixing? Are they a religious cult preparing for the Rapture that was supposed to happen on May 21st? Only time will tell, but until then Sadistic Legacy will continue to fire goals past their opponents until they are promoted back to the top leagues. That's if LEA doesn't have any more cards up his sleeve.
