As expected, Sadistic Legacy continued their impressive start to the league season with a 5-2 thrashing over Birmingham City and extended their unbeaten run to 6 games.
Legacy moved up 2 places to 5th after their impressive win

Birmingham pressed forward in the opening few minutes, looking to break through the Legacy defence with some good passing but it was Legacy who took the lead.

As John T was about to let rip from just outside the box, Legacy's PaulNewman slid in with a superb sliding challenge. Delighted with his challenge, Paul rode past 3 challenges and found AVFCRoss with a sublime pass, leaving the striker to just roll the ball past AskeySant in the Birmingham net.

That was going to be the first of many for the Legacy, but almost straight from kick off, John T once again picked up the ball on the edge of the box and would have scored had it not been for another PaulNewman challenge.

Larry Lax, today's referee, had a surprisingly good game despite topping up his tan for most of the game whilst sat in the centre circle.

Just after the half hour mark he awarded Legacy a penalty after AskeySant's fist connected with Stitch's face rather than the ball after Steven One Don's long ball into the box caused havoc in the City defence. The goalkeeper was booked for the incident, and Stitch, wanting revenge having received lengthy treatment for a broken nose, dusted himself of and blasted the ball straight at the keeper, who staggered backwards with the ball in his arms and collapsed in a heap behind the line. The goal was given despite the protests from City captain Yaremchuk that the ball hadn't gone over the line.

Clearly angry at the decision, Birmingham stepped up their efforts and were rewarded for it just before half time thanks to a bizarre scenario involving Paul Newman.

The London born defender intercepted a through ball and looked to set Legacy on the counter attack. This proved to be his last contribution to the game, as his pregnant girlfriend went into labour as she cheered on her boyfriends performance.  Paul then shoved Johnny Crook on his way to help his distraught girlfriend and conceded a free kick on the edge of the Legacy box.   Obviously alarmed at the incident, the Legacy defence were unaware that the free kick had been taken and VanScorp slotted the ball past RyanBJK to make it 2-1 at Half Time.

Both teams came out at half time looking for the win but Paul Newman was no where to be seen, so Legacy played the rest of the match with 10 men.

Legacy didn't have to wait long to restore their 2 goal advantage, as 8 minutes into the second half Steven One Don went on a long mazy run and slotted a great through ball to Stitch, who knocked the ball past the defender and smashed the ball into the bottom corner.

Birmingham still were not giving up as Jonny Crook nutmegged Haze09 and rifled the ball into the back of the net off the crossbar leaving RyanBJK no chance from 25 yards.

It wasn't until the last 10 minutes that Legacy really finished Birmingham off. PervyJerv played a big role in the next goal, as he picked the ball up on the half way line. Allhailcraig, usually one of Birmingham's most consistent performers, took one look at the big, black complexion of PervyJerv and understandably ran in the opposite direction. The midfielder, fittingly nicknamed "The Beast" by his opponents, played a simple pass to Steven One Don who clipped the ball over the Birmingham defence and Stitch ran on to nod the ball past the on-rushing keeper and complete his hat-trick.

Legacy rounded off their impressive performance as Steven One Don finally got the goal his performance deserved as he lobbed the Birmingham keeper having been set up by Fiction's through ball to ensure Legacy continued their great form and pushed them up to 5th in the First League.

Man of the Match
Stitch was impressive and will be delighted with his 3 goals.

AVFCRoss : "Myself and the team are playing well at the moment, it's all about keeping up the momentum and building on results."
